Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by PSA. Of all the memorable events that have transpired in the history of sports, it inspires little argument to say that Game 3 of the 1932 Fall Classic is subject to the most interpretations – embellished or otherwise. Did Babe Ruth point toward the center field bleachers in the moments preceding what was the longest home run ever hit at Wrigley Field? Offered here is an item that was most definitely on hand that day: a ticket stub from the historic "contest within a contest" that has been widely disputed into the next century. Regardless of whether or not the historic item's holder on October 1, 1932 was at a close-enough vantage point to allow full view of Ruth's gestures in that game, the "$1.10 BLEACHER" seat was certainly in the range of the much-celebrated clout's final landing spot. Ruth went 5 for 15 (a .333 average) with two homers and 6 RBI in the 1932 Yankees' four-game World Series sweep of the Chicago Cubs. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
