Bob Stinson was a reserve catcher most of his career, making his Major League debut on September 23, 1969, and was issued this gray light flannel road jersey, which was worn in a single game – his first ever appearance. The button down jersey has “Los Angeles” scripted across the front in blue felt with the red number “8” below. This number appears to have at one time been replaced. The lower front tail has the “Rawlings 42” manufacturers size tag with “Stinson 69” stitched directly to the jersey in blue thread. Further below is the wash tag with attached “Set 1 1969” evidencing the number change to Stinson’s “8”. The reverse simply has a blue felt “8”, also changed when Stinson was promoted late in the season. During the 100th Anniversary of MLB in 1969, shoulder patches were worn on the 1969 jerseys, but this example has been removed. The outline of the patch is visible. Nice vintage and popular jersey style. LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
