This artfully crafted 10-page document on decorative “Herbert Muhammad Enterprises” stationary belonging to Muhammad Ali’s manager comprises a contract between Ali and “Sport Prominent AG of Zurich” for the promotion of a fight between Ali and either Jimmy Ellis, Henry Clark or another fighter in Germany that turned out to be Richard Dunn, whom Ali defeated by TKO in the fifth round of their WBA and WBC title bout on May 24, 1976. The first page of the contract dated July 29, 1975 includes “Herbert Muhammad Enterprises 110 South Dearborn Street Suite 1515 Chicago Illinois 60603 782-1371” printed across the top of the page in cursive lettering. A lithograph print of Ali standing over Sonny Liston is featured as a backdrop to the page beneath the type written content of the contract and appears again on the third page of the document. Every pertinent detail of the promotion including Ali’s $2,500,000 purse, $250,000 training expenses and $100,000 transportation costs, dates of payments and percentages are covered in the contract as well as the disbursement of tickets to the fight that Ali will receive. Page 10 of the contract is signed boldly by Ali and Herbert Muhammad in black felt tip marker in signatures grading “10.” Contract is also signed by the promoter and signed and sealed by two notary publics. All 10 pages of this rare one-of-kind contract are in near mint condition and come with James Spence/PSA/DNA LOA.
