No one made a bigger splash upon their arrival in the game than Neon Deion Sanders. Tabbed as a future Hall of famer in both the NFL and Major League Baseball, Sanders was one of those rare two-sport stars. Coming up with the Yanks in 1990, Sanders had a hard time living up to his press, but the next year he help get the Atlanta Braves to the Post-Season, which Sanders missed due to his NFL contract. He made it to the ’92 World Series where he hit an outstanding .533, all the while playing with a broken foot. By 1998 playing two pro sports year-round took its toll on Sanders and his numbers declined rapidly. Focusing on football, Sanders finished out his NFL career by being voted to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Neon Dieon’s Louisville Slugger R161 model bat shows outstanding use with a slight handle crack. Along with many ball marks and stitch imprints visible on the barrel there are white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers. Blue bat rack paint streaks can be seen and a moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle. Sanders’ number 24 has ben hand written on the knob end. Letter of Authenticity (1B07477) from PSA/DNA who have given this bat a grade of GU 9.5.
