Created just before World War I, the British Aston Martin Company is one of the most renowned sports car manufacturers in the world, but due to the war’s outbreak was unable to create their well-oiled machines until 1921. Fast forward 80 years and the company, at this time owned by Ford Motor Company, begin producing the Aston Martin Vanquish, a successor to the aging Virage name. The Vanquish continued production until 2007 (and we restarted in late 2013). Offered is one of the premier sports cars in the world, a 2002 Vanquish in pristine condition with just over 5,000 miles. This is not just any old Vanquish which rolled off the assembly line, but one which is the Official 50th Anniversary Hall of Fame car, a one-of-one car featuring the signatures of 50 basketball Hall of Famers! This tremendous sports car has been custom wrapped with an NBA “Hardwood” vinyl wrapping before being signed by basketball legends including Michael Jordan, Walt Bellamy, David Robinson, Dave Cowens, George Gervin, Marques Haynes, Bob Wanzer, Bob Houbregs, Jerry Sloan, Sam Jones, Rick Barry, Bob Kurland, Bob Lanier, Moses Malone, Bailey Howell, Calvin Murphy, Nancy Lieberman, Harry Gallatin, Ann Meyers, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, David Thompson, Dolph Schayes, and John Havlicek among others. On each side is a basketball with ESPN insignia, and the hood has the Children’s Safety Network logo and “50th Anniversary Hall of Fame”. Our consignor bought this car directly from the Children’s Safety Network two years ago as a charitable purchase. The 2002 Aston Martin Vanquish is a two-door luxury coupe featuring a 460 HP, 5.9-litre V12 engine with a 6-speed overdrive enabled transmission. This car is not for the faint of heart! Remembering this custom car was produced in 2002, it still boasts a wide array of luxury amenities, and its safety features are top of the line. When it comes to luxury, the Vanquish does not disappoint its owner. The Vanquish is also one of the most famous sports cars in history as it was the “James Bond car” in the Pierce Brosnan movie “Die Another Day.” In fact, the Vanquish was ranked the third best movie car of all time behind the Mini’s from 1969’s The Italian Job, and the DB5 from two other Bond films, Goldenfinger and Thunderball. This offered vehicle has been appraised by the Classic Auto Appraisers out of Irvine, CA, and the car is housed in Los Angeles. Classic Auto Appraisers is the official appraisal company for Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, the best collector car auction company in the country. Within the report dated August 11, 2011, every part of the interior remains in excellent condition, while the exterior is mostly excellent including body, paint, trim, bumpers, wheels and the top. Some light wear is apparent on the wheels and underside, grading out as Very Good in their report. The two grades are the highest grades afforded the appraisal of this car. With just over 5,000 miles, the car looks superb. It can be viewed in person where it is located in Los Angeles. This car was already so loaded from the factory, but also includes a DBS front splitter, a custom rear “widebody” conversion, rear brake cooling ducts and the one of a kind NBA vinyl wrapping with the basketball legends signatures. The appraised value of $1,250,000 is based upon current market (2011) data comparisons, supplemented by cost information and the fact it a one-of-a-kind car which is the Official 50th Anniversary of the Basketball Hall of Fame car signed by the 50 Hall of Famers. This is a one of a kind classic car, which received much acclaim as a true piece of NBA memorabilia as well as being one of the best sports cars in the world. It is in fantastic condition, with very little mileage as well as the signatures of 50 of the greatest basketball players in the world. It is a new item Goldin Auction is proud to offer our growing clientele. Multiple images, a video plus the Classic Auto Appraisers detailed appraisal and PSA/DNA LOA (M99300) for the signatures are available for viewing online at goldinauctions.com.  Click here for a copy of the appraisal.
