Now closing in on 500 home runs, Albert Pujols continues to show the same dominance of the game as he did back in 2003, the season which this bat dates from. Leading the NL in batting (.359), hits (212), runs (137) and doubles (51), the Cardinals star also hit 43 homers, making him the game's most promising star. By the time the hammer falls on this auction, Pujols will be the newest member of the 500 Home Runs Club, all but guaranteeing him a plaque in the Hall of Fame. This Tuff X bat exhibits extraordinary game use and is uncracked. Massive ball marks and stitch impressions cover the barrel along with tremendous blue ink transfers. Several nicks from contact with the dugout steps can be seen on the barrel as well as bat rack paint streaks. A Light coat of pine tar is still evident on the lower handle. As a personal touch, Pujols has added a small Dominican Republic flag sticker to the bat just to the right of the center brand. His number "5" is hand written in black marker on both the knob and barrel ends. Great been-there bat from the early years of a future Hall of Famer. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
