Even back in New Jersey's Millville High Mike Trout turned heads with his super-natural baseball abilities. Originally a pitcher, Trout threw a no-hitter against Egg Harbor High and then picked up the bat and hit 18 homers for the season, still a New Jersey State record. Just before his senior year the 17 year-old traveled west to participate in the "Area Code Games", a tournament featuring the best high school talent in the country. Trout dominated, going 6 for 11 and impressing every scout present with not only his brute strength but an innate baseball knowledge usually found in players 10 years older than the New Jersey teenager. While most prospects would have attended a college program, and Trout had no lack of scholarships, he chose to go straight to pro ball after graduation. Within 3 years "The Millville Meteor" would be the best young player in the American League, winner of both a Rookie of the Year Award and AL MVP. This wonderful Millville Thunderbolts jersey was worn by the 17 year-old phenom during the '09 season, his senior year. The gray road jersey has Trout's alma mater arched across the front in navy and orange tackle twill. Navy piping runs around the collar and sleeve openings. The future superstar's number "1" is on the left front in navy and orange tackle twill. Russell Athletic size XL is sewn in the collar. The back has Trout's number "1" again in his schools orange and navy colors. Trout has signed the number in white ink adding "H/S Game Used". The jersey shows good game use with some loose threads, pulls in the fabric and very light staining. A very unique gamer, from a kid well on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Uniform experts MEARS have thoroughly examined this piece and awarded it their highest grade of A10. The jersey comes with a signed Letter of Authenticity from Mike Trout along with a photograph of the slugger posing with this signed jersey.
