Boxing relived its greatest glory with last year's "Fight of the Century." The hype, the swagger, the jackpot, the drama, the spectacle—Mayweather-Pacquiao's total domination of the sports world's attention drew comparisons to the days of Tyson and Ali. And Mayweather's 48-0 record established the man known as "Money" to an elite status as arguably the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in history.

Very few collectibles from Mayweather-Pacquiao have reached auction in the past year, and certainly none finer than the diamond-and-emerald-encrusted beauty presented here. According to our consignor who received the 14K-gold ring directly from the World Boxing Council (WBC), only two such keepsakes were ever produced—one for Mayweather and one for Pacquiao. This size 9-1/2 example is the very one intended for Mayweather himself, but which the champion declined. Thus it remained in the possession of the WBC and was ultimately acquired by our consignor, whose LOA is included. Crowned by a dramatic raised logo design and its sparkling array of gems, the showpiece exhibits radiant NM condition. "WBC WORLD CHAMPION" appears on both shanks, and the underside is engraved, "MANNY PACQUIAO / MAY 2ND 2015 / FLOYD MAYWEATHER." Accompanied by the 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" wooden presentation box.
