It was evident early in Andre Dawson’s career that he possessed a certain “je-ne-sais-quoi” (noun; an indefinable, elusive quality, especially a pleasing one… literally translated; I don’t know what) that made him equally popular among his teammates and fans. So it comes as no surprise that he would have received the “Claude Raymond Award” as the Montreal “Most Popular Player” for “1984” which is etched in gold lettering onto a 3” x 4” black metallic plate on the front of a 5” x 5” wooden base supporting a 10.5” tall bronze batter standing in the ready position. The Claude Raymond award was named for the former Montreal Expos pitcher who also worked as a French language broadcaster with the Expos from 1972-2001 and served as the public address announcer during baseball games at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Trophy is in excellent condition and comes with a notarized letter of authenticity from Andre Dawson.
