Climbing the ladder on the Montreal Expos all-time home run leaders list, Andre Dawson hit this Charles S Feeney Official National League ball for the 200th home run of his career off Chicago Cubs hurler Steve Trout in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field on September 23, 1985. Off white ball contains spotty toning and has rough edged scuff on two side panels crossing the seams most likely from where it landed while the Rawlings label is smudged where Dawson’s bat made contact. The ball is inscribed by Dawson on a side panel in black marker as “Career Home-run #200 off Steve Trout 9/24/85” with an incorrect date as it was hit the day before but Dawson did hit three more home runs against the Cubs the next day and finished his ninth full season with 23 home runs bringing his career total to 205. The ball comes with a notarized letter of authenticity from Dawson.
