The 2010 San Francisco Giants shocked the baseball world by winning the 2010 World Series, handling the vaunted Texas Rangers lineup with stellar pitcher. Outfield Andres Torres had his finest season in 2010, hitting .268 with 16 home runs. He was the Giants leadoff hitter throughout that World Series, contributing a .318 average, with four doubles, a home run and three runs batted in. After winning the World Series, Torres ordered an additional ring (Something players often due for family members). Each ring is exactly alike in every way, and if we were not aware of the additional ring,it would be impossible to know which of the two has been kept by Andres, and which is presented here. To our knowledge this is the ONLY PLAYERS RING to have been made available for public sale from this historic team. Designed and produced by Tiffany & Co., the 2010 San Francisco Giants World Series Champions Ring was designed to be with homage to the rings from earlier eras. The original inspiration was the Giants 1933 World Series ring but with a modern style. The Tiffany & Co. championship ring is primarily made from white gold, also with some 14K gold. The ring top holds the "SF" logo set with round diamonds encircled by a bezel of yellow gold, flanked by two round diamonds and the term "WORLD CHAMPIONS". The perimeter contains more small round diamonds. One shank of the size 11.5 ring has the year "2010" flanking a yellow gold tower of the Golden Gate Bridge -- the iconic symbol of San Francisco. The other shank has the recipient's name "TORRES" in a ribbon over the World Series trophy. Within the top of the trophy is one mandarin orange spessartite garnet representing the San Francisco championship and at the base of the trophy are five diamonds representing the five New York championships. Within the band is engraved the results of their three 2010 post season series wins with "SFG 3 - ATL 1 SFG 4 - PHI 2 SFG 4 - TEX 1". Below this is the name "TIFFANY & CO" and "AU585" indicating the gold is 58.5% pure, or 14K. This is tremendous ring of the first ever Giants baseball championship in San Francisco, and the reminder of the old baseball adage of "good pitching will always beat good hitting". LOA from Andres Torres. Ring weighs approximately 75 grams.
