Hall of Famer and all-time stolen base leader Rickey Henderson burst on the scene during his first full season in 1980 leading the Oakland A’s to a second place finish in the AL West with an 83-79 record. After stealing 33 bases in 1979 in only 89 games, Henderson reached the 100 stolen-base mark in 1980 in his first of many all-star appearances. Henderson wore this size 42 Oakland A’s alternate yellow jersey during his breakout 1980 season in Oakland. This pullover jersey has the “A’s” sewn on the upper left chest in green and white tackle twill and the v-neck collar has a green/white/green pattern. The jersey was manufactured by McAuliffe Uniform Corp of Brockton, MA. “HENDERSON” is sewn directly to the jersey in green, while his number “35” is sewn on in green and white. The end of each sleeve has a green/yellow/green/yellow/green striping pattern and the manufacturer’s tag, year tag (1980), size tag (42) and cleaning tag are all sewn on the bottom front tail. This jersey comes with a full LOA from Mears, who have given this jersey a perfect A-10 rating.
