Presented here is a signed and framed drawing of Mickey Mantle, titled “Switch”. Mantle was the best switch-hitter in baseball history, hitting 536 home runs as a righty and a lefty. The legendary Yankee, who won the 1956 Triple Crown, is drawn twice in this sketch, once swinging as a lefty and once swinging as a righty. The two Mantle apparitions are attached at the shoulder, melding into each other. The drawing is by the artist Mark Rucker, who drew it in 1980. He wrote his name in gray pencil below the drawing. This drawing, which comes in a 9.5 x 12.5 inch frame, is a limited edition seven of 1,000. Mantle signed the bottom of the picture in blue marker, adding the inscription “To Tom / Best Wishes”. Mantle used his full name as his signature, writing out “Mickey Charles Mantle”. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A80612).
