This lot is part of the Jackie Robinson 71st Anniversary Auction to benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation

The legendary Tony Gwynn is immortalized on this Louisville Slugger C263 Bat. A portrait of Gwynn, painted by the former Major League outfielder turned sports artist Gene Locklear, graces the barrel of this dark brown bat. A lifelong San Diego Padre, Gwynn is portrayed in the Friars white, pinstriped home jersey. Gwynn played 20 seasons for his hometown team, reaching 3,141 career hits and ending his career with a sky-high .338 batting average. A 15-time All-Star, Gwynn won eight National League batting titles and earned his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first appearance on the ballot. Gwynn has signed the barrel of this bat in gold marker. Additionally, Gene Locklear has added his signature and the inscription “87” to the barrel. A PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY (AA36336) accompanies this item. This bat, which is in good condition, is a tremendous display piece for any fan of “Mr. Padre”.  Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
