Houston Astros MVP second baseman Jose Altuve continued his meteoric MLB rise during a spectacular 2016 season. Altuve collected his second American League batting crown with a .338 average while setting new career-best marks in homers (24) and RBI (96) for the 84-78 Astros. The Venezuela native made his third of six All-Star appearances in 2016 and finished third in the AL MVP race.
Offered in this lot is Altuve’s navy Astros batting helmet worn during the 2016 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Petco Park in San Diego. Altuve started the contest and finished hitless in three at-bats as the American League defeated the Senior Circuit by a 4-2 scoreline. This offered helmet is navy, with Houston’s logo applied to the front. Altuve’s number “27” is applied to the back of the helmet in orange and white numerals. The helmet is a size “7 ?” with a flap over the left ear. The helmet comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC105212).
