Game 1 of the 1963 World Series was a matchup of lefty handed future Hall of Famers Sandy Koufax of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Whitey Ford of the New York Yankees. What was anticipated as a nail biting series turned into a four game Dodgers sweep, led by this Game 1 5-2 victory at Yankee Stadium. This is the game that Koufax set the "then" World Series record of 15 strikeouts. This 10.5 x 13.5 photo is signed boldly in black marker by Sandy Koufax and Whitey Ford, the two Game 1 starters, with a PSA/DNA Game 1 World Series Full Ticket (Graded NM-MT 8) is shadow boxed below. Both items are attractively housed in a 15.5 x 23.75 inch black frame. According to a prior auction LOA included, the photo itself “originates from the personal collection of Whitey Ford.” This is a tremendous signed item of two of the premier left handed pitchers of the 1950s – 1960s, with the added bonus of a 1963 World Series Game 1 full ticket, graded by PSA/DNA at NM-MT 8 condition. Also, a JSA basic cert (K42795) is included for the Sandy Koufax signature.
