The most recently active player of the Baltimore Orioles’ legends honored with statues in the sculpture garden at Camden Yards, Cal Ripken Jr. wore this Size 7 3/8 Diamond Collection/New Era black Orioles cap with ornithologically correct Orioles bird logo worn by the team between 1994 and 1996. The period when the Orioles wore this style cap coincides with the time surrounding Ripken’s pursuit of Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games played record. Ripken signed the cap in bright silver Sharpie on the top of its brim. The three dimensional Orioles bird logo stands out prominently and the cap shows light to moderate wear with some sweat stains on the band and a perhaps a smudge of pine tar on the underside of the brim where Ripken’s number “8” is also written in thick black Sharpie; comes with an LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
