The outer surface of the American Baseball Cap helmet shows many dings and scuff marks as is usual for a game used helmet. The classic Yankees interlocking "NY" logo appears on the front in raised letters. Jeter's famous number "2" is applied to the front of the brim as well on the back of the helmet beside the MLB logo. The inside of the helmet is in excellent condition with all the foam padding intact, with the headband still soft and supple. The original company labels are all still inside the crown, including the warning and "7 1/4" size labels. These labels plus the ABC date dial reading October of 1997 located on the inside of the helmet. Although all aspects of this helmet indicate it was a professional model helmet used by Jeter, this was rejected as a gamer by JT Sports expert John Taube. However, the Derek Jeter signature is real, verified by PSA/DNA, cert number V04094.
