They were the original Dream Team, a collection of college basketball stars ready to take on the world at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The team was coached by Bobby Knight, and headlined by a forward form North Carolina named Michael Jordan. A total of 70 players vied for a sport on the roster, but after the first week, the “team” was whittled down to 20 players. This official “Wilson” Cushion-Aire ball has been signed boldly in black Sharpie by 18 members of that extended team. Includes: Michael Jordan, Leon Wood, Wayman Tisdale, Joe Kleine, Jeff Turner, Sam Perkins, Jon Koncak, Chris Mullin, Alvin Robertson, Patrick Ewing, Steve Alford, Tim McCormick, Maurice Martin, Charles Barkley, Chuck Person, Terry Porter, John Stockton and Lancaster Gordon. The final seven names (including NBA HOFers Barkley and Stockton), were among the final cuts. Only players missing are Johnny Dawkins and Vern Fleming (actual Olympic player). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
