The 1975 season was a standout one for Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver as he posted a National League best 22 wins and 243 strikeouts for the New York Mets. “Tom Terrific” signed his game-used Mets pants from the ’75 season on the inner waist band in bold, blue Sharpie along with teammate Rusty Staub (bold, black Sharpie), who became the first Mets player to ever post 100 RBIs that season. The white pants with Mets blue pinstripes feature a white strip tag in the center of the inner waist band that reads “36 25 75 41,” indicating the waist size, inseam, year and Seaver’s jersey number. Rawlings ”manufacturer’s tag also is stitched on the waist band with an affixed tag that reads“ SET 1 #8P 1975.” The single button waist fastener and zipper are fully intact, as are the buttons for the two back pockets. The pants show moderate signs of game use, most notably faded dirt stains. The signed pants are PSA/DNA authenticated and come with a full LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
