In the who’s who list of New York Yankees icons, few names rival that of Lou Gehrig and none top Babe Ruth. The duo, which shared the field for six seasons from 1927 to 1932, both signed this classic D&M baseball, with “The Bambino” gracing the sweet spot with his penned autograph. Gehrig’s signature appears penned on the north panel, just above the D&M logo, while fellow Hall of Famers Bill Dickey and Earle Combs also signed the baseball. The foursome combined to win 36 World Series titles both as players and coaches in over a 40-year span. Five other signatures grace the baseball, all likely Yankees from the franchise’s golden era. Though faded due to age, the four highlight signatures are all easily identifiable and would make for a welcomed addition to any collection coveting some of baseball’s biggest names.
