As a member of those early Connie Mack Philadelphia A’s World Series teams, Honest Eddie Murphy was presented with this ring to commemorate the World Series title won by the Athletics in 1910. Presented in 1939 at the Baseball Centennial Hall of Fame induction festivities, these rings were presented to members of the two teams which played the induction game. Even though he was not a member of that 1910 A’s World Series team, Murphy suited up for the 1910 Connie Mack squad at the Induction game, and was presented with this ring. This size 9.5/8.8 gram 10K gold ring features the raised 1939 Baseball Centennial logo set upon a baseball diamond, with a swinging batter (looks like Joe DiMaggio), the year “1939” etched twice, with a single diamond representing home plate. One side has the year “1910” while the other has the team “A’s”, and within the band is engraved the name “Edward J. Murphy”. The ring shows evidence of proud use, with each side moderately worn down, and multiple areas of the face similarly aged. A very scarce ring, issued to members of those early Connie Mack led teams, and presented during baseball centennial celebration. Very good condition. Comes with an LOA from the Grandson of Honest Eddie Murphy, Edward Murphy, confirming it has been in family possession since it was awarded.
