The 1914 Philadelphia A’s were already spending their World Series Championship purses when they were listed as heavy favorites over the upstart Boston Braves. The A’s had already won three of the prior four World Series titles, and were planning a third straight title, but the Miracle Braves ended that thought with a systematic four game sweep. This colorful 18-page program highlights the White Elephants three prior Championships, and has cover staining, a moderate vertical fold, and small right edge tear affecting each page in the same location. Interior pages includes striking full length poses of all A's team members, a portrait of Connie Mack and a posed team photo of the Braves, as well as a detailed account of their miracle season entitled "The Climb of the Braves". The scarcity of this 8 x 11 inch program and its outstanding cover graphics both contribute to its stature as one of the most desirable programs of the era, and overcome and it may exhibit. Overall Good to Very Good condition.
