In what was Babe Ruth’s first New York Yankee World Series, the New York Giants prevailed over their city and stadium rivals 5 games to 3, in what was a best of 9 World Series. The 9.25 x 11 inch unscored program cover features large portrait images of each club's respective manager, John McGraw and Miller Huggins, on the cover while the interior pages include photos of league and team officials, as well as portraits of 24 members of both the Yankees and Giants. Because both teams called the Polo Grounds home in 1921, the programs for all of the games, published by Harry M. Stevens, were identical in design. The sixteen-page program contains moderate to extensive wear, with a full length taped spine, prominent vertical pocket fold (also full length), and noticeable edge wear throughout. Babe’s first Yankee series was one to forget (he managed only a single HR), but he would make up for this loss many times over in the future. Good condition.
