October Legends Closing November 1

Offered is a rarely seen Pittsburgh issued program of the 1927 World Series, when the Pirates were swept by the might Murderers Row New York Yankees. Stories abound how the Yankees potent lineup took batting practice before Game 1, booming long ball after long ball over the fence, and completely demoralizing the singles hitting Pirates. This 9 x 11 inch program is un-scored but features pre-printed lineups including Hall of Famers Ruth, Gehrig, Dickey, Combs and Lazzeri of the Yankees, with brothers Paul and Lloyd Waner and Pie Traynor for the Pirates. Fully intact example, which is much rarer than the bolder, more established New York issued book. Spine is intact but cover is slightly separated at top and bottom, with cover also showing light staining. Very good to excellent overall condition.
