The New York Yankees avenged their 1926 Series defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals by blasting the Cardinals out of the park with a four game sweep. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig led the way with seven home runs between them. This 8.75 x 11.75 inch Game 3 program issued at Sportsman’s Park is neatly scored in pencil, highlighting Gehrig’s famous two-homer game, both blasts coming off future Hall of Famer Jesse Haines. (Not to be outdone, Ruth crushed three homers the next game). The cover has the date “Sunday – Oct 7th 1928” written at the top, moderate staining and light edge tears. The still intact cover is somewhat separated top and bottom of the spine. Very Good overall condition.
