Coming off their first World Series title in over 20 years, the 1930 Philadelphia Athletics won their second straight American League title. This World Series program from Shibe Park features skipper Hall of Famer Connie Mack on the cover, and is the “blue variation” cover. The expansive program is from the Athletics Game 2 victory, a 6-1 drubbing of the Cardinals giving the A’s a sturdy 2-0 advantage in games. The neatly pencil scored program correctly indicates Mickey Cochrane’s first inning home run, giving the A’s an early lead they would never relinquish. Grading Very Good to excellent overall condition, the program exhibits some tape on the outer spine, with a couple dozen pages with sporadic tape, many of which do not appear to have been needed. The back cover exhibits some moderate areas of paper loss, and remnants of tape, and also a few inner pages contain light paper loss, presumably from prior tape removal. The Athletics prevailed in six games, winning their second consecutive World Series title. Very Good to Excellent condition.
