The 1931 World Series showcased the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Athletics, a rematch from the previous year. Unlike the 1930 World Series, the Cardinals defeated the A’s, 4 games to 3. This 40-page, unscored program was issued at Shibe Park, home of the A’s. Due to the program being unmarked, it is unknown which game it was issued; games 3, 4, and 5 were played in Philadelphia. The bottom quarter of the program is separated from the binding, but the rest of the binding is intact. The cover shows light staining and color fading. Within the program, 12 pages highlight 2 players each from the A’s with a full length photograph and bio. One full page showcases the Cardinals with a portrait of each player. At the center are the lineup cards for each team, unmarked.
