Masahiro Tanaka signed a tremendous contract to pitch with the New York Yankees, coming over from his native Japan to test the American lineups. Before he went on the disabled list with an elbow issue, Tanaka proved to be the best pitcher in the American League during his 2014 debut. On April 16, 2014 Tanaka faced the Chicago Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader, throwing eight shutout innings, striking out ten batters for a 3-0 Yankee victory, his first career win at Yankee Stadium. The white, home pinstriped jersey has the ubiquitous interlocking “NY” on the left breast. The lower front tail contains “Majestic Authentic” manufacturers tag, with attached size “52” and “2014” year flag tags. Affixed to this tag is the Steiner Sports hologram (029202). Below is a New York Yankees tag with serial number (0000004144), and has the MLB hologram affixed with number (HZ102844). The jersey shows nice evidence of game use with dirt staining and general overall wear.
