In the 1946 All Star game, played in Boston’s Fenway Park, the American League won again thumping their counterparts 12-0. In this game, Bill Dickey pinched hit and struck out in his only plate appearance. For his participation, Dickey was presented with a 10K gold charm. Our consignor had it made into a ring and was at one time owned by Violet Dickey, Bill’s daughter. On the face of the 10K charm/ring it says “1946 ALL STAR GAME NEW YORK AMERICAN LEAGUE” with one side “A.L. - 12 N.L. – 0 1946” and the other side “ALL STAR 1946”. Visible on the reverse of the charm is engraved his name “BILL DICKEY” but no manufacturers or composition insignia. However, this size 11/36.4 gram 14K gold ring with the ten point real diamond remains in excellent overall condition. Very rare early All Star charm, presented to a Hall of Famer, made into a beautiful ring. LOA from Violet Dickey Stafford, daughter of Bill Dickey.
