In winning their first World Series Championship since 1962, team members, coaches and front office personnel were awarded these tremendous Championship rings. The top of this 14k gold ring features the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo, inlaid with 19 diamonds, set upon a Yankee blue stone. Around the perimeter is “Yankees World Champions” in raised letters. The right shank has “1977” in raised letters, below a representation of the World Series Trophy set within the new Yankee Stadium. Two banners are depicted above the stadium, on either side of the trophy, which are engraved “PRIDE” and “TRADITION.” The left shank has the recipient’s name “ELLIS” engraved above both the New York Yankees Top Hat logo and “21st World Championship,” both in raised letters. Sammy Ellis was a Yankees roving minor league pitching coach that season, and former Major League hurler. The 1977 season marked the Yankees first World Championship since 1962 and was also the Yankees first World Championship under the ownership of George Steinbrenner. This is an extremely desirable New York Yankees World Series Ring – the first of the era of The Boss. Ring is approx. a size 11- Near Mint condition.
