Eddie Popowski spent 65 years in organized baseball, ALL OF THEM with the Boston Red Sox! He was a long time minor league coach and roving instructor before being promoted to third base coach for manager Dick Williams for the 1967 season. That season the Red Sox rode Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Lonborg to the American League title. For being part of that historic team, Popowski was presented with this ring, and was eventually elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2000. This Balfour 10K gold ring has the Boston “B” on top with two rubies inside, surrounded by “BOSTON RED SOX AL CHAMPIONS” on the perimeter. The one shank has the name “POPOWSKI” with the Red Sox cap with a ball/glove/crossed bat motif. The other shank contains the year “1967” with the Red Sox insignia. This size 11 ring weighs 26.8 grams, and has “BALFOUR 10K” engraved within the band. Near Mint condition.
