The first overall pick of the 2009 NHL entry draft, John Tavares burst onto the scene for the New York Islanders, scoring 24 goals and adding 30 assists as a 19-year-old rookie. There is an identifier from the Islanders sewn into the jersey that states as follows “New York Islanders Game worn Jersey Program 2009-2010 season 209631 Scott Boggs – Head Equipment Manager.” 2009 is shaded on the patch. There is an LOA by the Islanders that states "This letter confirms that the royal jersey with serial number 209631 was worn by John Tavares during the 2010/2011 season". The lace-up collar blue Reebok jersey features an Islanders logo stitched prominently on the chest of the blue sweater with “TAVARES” across the back and his number “91” on the back and sleeves, all in white-on-orange tackle twill. The size 56 jersey features a tie-down strap sewn on the inner, lower back. The jersey shows moderate signs of game use, including a small hole on the right elbow and black scuff likely from stick or puck contact. The game-used Tavares jersey comes with a signed LOA from Terry Goldstein, director of licensing and retail operations for the Islanders.
