“The Big Unit” signed this big (size-52) Arizona Diamondbacks pinstriped home jersey in bright silver sharpie on the 5 in his number 51. This jersey is the team’s original purple, teal and white colors in triple tackle twill with “Big Unit” and “Game Used A.S.G. Jersey” inscriptions. Adding a “2002 Triple Crown Winner” inscription on the 1, in recognition of his 24-win, 2.32 ERA and 334 strikeout season. Johnson’s name is stitched in purple and teal tackle twill across the back and the Diamondbacks A logo is in the same colors on the front. A 2002 MLB All-Star Game logo patch in the Milwaukee Brewers dark blue and gold home colors is on the right sleeve (the game was played at Miller Park in Milwaukee) and an Arizona Diamondbacks purple, copper and white rattlesnake head patch is above a purple Rawlings logo on Johnson’s throwing arm left sleeve. Johnson did not appear in the game and the jersey show minimal use with perhaps a few tobacco spit spots. MLB Authentic/Rawlings manufacturers label with “5 Inch Extra Length” size “52” and “Set 1 2002” flag tags are on the left front tail; comes with JSA LOA #Y20463 and Mears Letter of Opinion grading: A-10.
