Bobby Murcer was next in line as the next great New York Yankees centerfielder. Left handed power hitter from Oklahoma, Murcer moved off shortstop to centerfield just like his hero, and fellow Sooner native, Mickey Mantle did. This 1963-64 Spalding EZ Flex Carl Yastrzemski model 42-203, 11 ¾ inch glove shows extensive wear with a heavily oiled palm, with an interior palm well stained from perspiration. Interesting personal features include his name “Bobby” written on the back of the ring finger, with the letters “PRAY” on each finger on the inside, all in black marker. Two early 1970s magazines have Murcer on the cover with glove on hand. However, while both gloves are Spalding models, neither definitively indicates a photo match. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number 1G00129.
