This single page diary entry was written by the great “Yankee Clipper” in blue ball point pen on The Sands of Las Vegas stationary and is dated Thursday, April 30th, 1987. It provides an intimate glimpse into the post-playing career day-to-day life of the legendary Joe DiMaggio describing the events of one single day, in his own cursive script it reads: Breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Imperial Hotel. Took a three-mile walk and back to the hotel to do some calling and arranging my trip to Philadelphia tomorrow. Called Art Leibert and we had coffee in the coffee shop. Went to Las Vegas Country Club to watch Pro Golfers with “Ash” Back to hotel to take bath and dressed to have dinner at Castaway Michaels restaurant at 7:30 PM with friend. Back to hotel to receive a call from Dallas (interview) at 10:30 PM.
