This road, gray button-down jersey has "BOSTON" across the chest, his name “ORTIZ” and his number "34" on the reverse, all in blue tackle twill. The lower front tail has the "Majestic Authentic" patch, and a white strip tag with "34 50 '12" stitched in black, indicating number, size and year. The Majestic tag has the MLB hologram, serial number EK162103, confirming this jersey was worn by Ortiz during the July 4, 2012 Independence Day game in Oakland when he smacked his 400th career home run.
The left shoulder has the Red Sox stocking insignia, while the right shoulder has the “Fenway Park 100 Years” patch. The jersey exhibits tremendous wear, with areas of dirt stains on the front and back. The jersey appears to be all original with no alterations. Signed on the reverse numbers “David Ortiz 34 Game Used 400th HR jersey 7/4/2012.” David Ortiz was a big part of the Red Sox winning their third World Series title in 10 years just a year later, their magical 2013 season, as he was with the prior two titles in 2004 and 2007.
