“The house that Ruth built,” was really the house built for Ruth with construction beginning in May of 1922 at a cost of approximately $2.5 million, using more than 2,000 tons of steel, 20,000 cubic yards of concrete, 16,000 square feet of sod more than 1,000,000 brass screws and countless red bricks like this MLB Authentic (#EK370116) produced by the Goldrick Brick Company. Exhumed from The Columbus Room connected to the Yankees Clubhouse by a short tunnel, this slightly chipped red clay brick was used during the original construction of the ballpark in 1922-1923 and gently removed during the construction of the new Yankee Stadium in 2009. This dusty red brick is imprinted with the Goldrick company brand, still carries some of its original mortar and comes with a handsome mahogany riser display case and Plexiglas rectangular shaped cover and Steiner Sports LOA.
