The culmination of Dwight Gooden’s remarkable comeback from substance abuse that led to his one-year suspension for testing positive cocaine use, the former New York Mets rookie phenom returned to form with the cross-town rival Yankees in 1996 throwing the only no-hitter of his career at Yankee Stadium against the Seattle Mariners on May 14, 1996. Gooden signed this Rawlings Official Gene A. Budig American League ball used in his no-hit performance that day in blue ballpoint pen ink on the sweet spot with “#11” and “No Hitter 5-14-96” inscriptions. Slightly muddy-looking, rubbed down ball shows good game use and comes with JSA LOA certification #X69743.
