Only 23 pitchers have managed to toss a perfect game in the 145-year history of Major League Baseball. David Wells became the 15th pitcher to achieve the feat in 4-0 victory over the Twins on May 17, 1998. Wells struck out 11 batters in the contest. The three-time All-Star signed this Rawlings OAL Budig baseball in bold, blue ink on the sweet spot with the inscription “0-0-0 5/17/98” below. The signed baseball shows obvious signs of game use, including discoloration and scuffing, and comes with a JSA LOA, certification number “X69739.”
