Filling in for both Derek Jeter and Alex Ramirez, Nunez responded by hitting .280 and proving to anyone who had the privilege of watching him play that he was big league star material. The customized Nokona Pro Maple bat shows evidence of heavy use and is untracked. Many ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel and the ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks are evident on all sides of the barrel. The bats handle has been modified with a distinctive spiral pattern of black adhesive tape and soft pad to enhance Nunez's grip and the knob end is taped with white adhesive. The bat's spec's (33.5 length and 31oz weight) have been written in marker on the knob end. Nunez has signed the bat in silver marker adding his number "12" and "Game Used 2010 Rookie Season". This is a perfect example of a game used bat and PSA/DNA agreed, giving it their highest grade of GU 10 (1B02222).
