During 2008 Kevin Youkilis continued his remarkable defense at first base for the Red Sox, but it was with his bat that he made an even better contribution - though he batted a credible .312 for the season his .356 average against relief pitching helped propel Boston to a wild card berth. His win-or-die attitude manifested itself in his .374 average with runners in scoring position and he was a shoe-in as the AL's starting first baseman in the All-Star Game. The Louisville Slugger T141 bat shows heavy use with a cracked handle. Many ball marks and stitch impressions cover the barrel along with white leather ball scuffs. Cleat imprints can be seen and a moderate coat of pine tar coats the handle and center brand. Youkilis' number "20" is hand written on the knob end in silver along with the weight. This is a perfect example of a game used Youkilis bat and the Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA agrees, awarding the bat its highest grade of GU 10 (1B02389).
