Melky Cabrera was called up by the Yanks early in the Spring of 2006. The rookie had a 4 hit game in his first month in the majors and then made a terrific catch off a Manny Ramirez fly ball that earned him the 2006 "This Year In Baseball" award. Quite a freshman season and this bat was there. Melky's Louisville Slugger G174 shows excellent use with a repaired handle crack. His stamped name appears on the barrel along with his team "NEW YORK YANKEES". Several ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen along the barrel and the ball marks include blue ink transfers. Blue and Black bat rack paint streaks are visible on the bat as is the impression from a weighted batting donut. A moderate coat of pine tar coats the handle and center brand. A very impressive rookie-era bat from one of the game's most exciting players. A Steiner Sports hologram is affixed to the front barrel. Letter of Authenticity from Steiner Sports and PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8 (E6860).
