The hits just kept on coming for Don Mattingly, 2,153 of them in his 14-year career in Yankees pinstripes. “Donnie Baseball,” was still racking them up with this un-cracked 34-inch, 32-ounce, Louisville Slugger model T141 during its 1991-1995 labeling period. Natural finish bat displays excellent game use with numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and significant grain swelling. Mattingly signed the bat in bold black sharpie with a “23” inscription between the label and barrel branding where his facsimile signature is also engraved in a natural dark brown tone and per Mattingly’s habit of writing the numbers of retired Yankees on the knobs of his bat, Mickey Mantle’s number “7” is inscribed in black marker on the knob. A thick coating of pine tar remains on the upper handle, but the lower handle is clean and appears to have been previously taped. It comes with PSA/DNA LOA certification #E36469 GU-8 and JSA COA #F 50583 for the signature with both stickers affixed to the end of the barrel.
