Hall of Famer Joe Sewell played in World Series for both the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees, and was the toughest hitter in baseball to strike out. One enterprising collector sent Sewell these dozen OAL baseballs, and asked him to sign his name on the sweet spots and inscribed each ball differently. His instructions were printed out and taped to the top of the boxes. And true to his character, Mr. Sewell obliged this fan his wishes. Each ball is boldly signed and inscribed in blue ink on Near Mint or better OAL Brown baseballs. The inscriptions are all different but include variations of his two teams (Cleveland and New York), his Hall of Fame induction (1977), and time spent in the World Series contests. Included are copies of the page instructions, which indicates this group, were sent to Mr. Sewell on May 17, 1989. A very interesting group of baseballs, all virtually one of a kind.
