This very exciting item results from an old time Yankee collector who originally obtained this film projector many years ago. The 1939 New York Yankees were coming off a four game sweep of the Chicago Cubs in the 1938 World Series, their third straight World Series title. But, the Yankees were not content, and sought to improve their chances in 1939 by filming and “scouting” their own players, to presumably improve their performance. The 8.75 x 9.5 inch projector sits in the original 14 x 9 inch projector case, which has a slide out system covering storage compartments. These compartments hold all original accessories including the operations manual, cord and original bottle of lubricating oil. Tremendous one of a kind Yankee item form their fourth consecutive World Series championship season. Many baseball historians view the 1939 Yankees squad as the second best team of all time behind only the 1927 Murderers Row Yankees of Ruth and Gehrig. Excellent overall condition with extremely rare footage including Joe DiMaggio smacking a World Series Home Run.
