They were the best power duo to ever play the game, so closely aligned in their careers when you hear the name Babe Ruth, you think of Lou Gehrig, and vice versa. They hit in the lineup next to each other for almost 10 seasons, with the 1927 season being the most memorable of all time. After the 1927 season, Ruth and Gehrig barnstormed together for extra cash, famously know as the 1927 "Bustin' Babes and Larrupin' Lou's" barnstorming tour,” and it might have been during one of these barnstorming tour encounters where this dual signed ball was signed.

This creamy-toned and lightly used Official Western League baseball has bold stampings, and tremendous red and blue stitches. The Babe scripted his signature across the sweet spot, while Gehrig applied his name on the western panel, allowing both names to be displayed at one angle. Both signatures show (“4-5”) in strength, and are only lightly affected by some light spotting. In an unknown hand, the year “1927” has been penned on the north panel, giving some extra credence to the famous barnstorming tour as the platform for this dual signed baseball. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication, cert number X51823.
