Well before he became the Wizard of Westwood, leading the UCLA Bruins basketball team to ten NCAA titles, John Wooden was a HOF player at Purdue in his home state of Indiana. Also, before matriculating to Purdue, he was a “star dribbler and basket shot” at Martinsville High School. This 1928 Martinsville High School Yearbook, named “The Artesian”, has been signed three times in black ballpoint “John Wooden” (all “8-9/10” in strength), once with his senior portrait, once with the basketball team photo and once with his senior letterman photo. The 8 x 10.75 inch book contains 136 pages, has a fully detached cover along with several loose pages, grades Good to VG, with EX to EX/MT pages. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
