One of the most prolific sluggers of his era and all of baseball history, Jim Thome enjoyed what could arguably be the greatest seasons of his illustrious 22-year career. During 2002, he knocked a career-high 52 home runs with an American League leading 122 walks, .667 slugging percentage and a whopping 1.122 OPS! He also batted .304 with 118 RBI and finished 7th in MVP voting, in his 12th season with the Cleveland Indians. Thome wore this size 50, grey button-down road jersey during the 2002 campaign. Thome’s name is stitched in red, black and silver triple tackle twill onto a name plate across the back above his number 25 applied in the same fashion. Cleveland is stitched in cursive lettering across the front in the same red, black and silver tackle twill. A Chief Wahoo logo patched is on the left sleeve above a blue and red Russell Athletic logo and navy blue piping runs around the collar and alongside the buttons with navy and light blue piping ringing the sleeves. An MLB Authentic/Russell Athletic manufacturers label with size “50 Polyester” and “+2 Sleeve Length” flag tags and a “2002” plastic patch are affixed to the left front tail. Comes with LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
