Led by Isaiah Thomas, the Indiana Hoosiers beat the North Carolina Tar Heels 63-50 to win Bobby Knight’s second National Championship. For their efforts, players were awarded these Championship rings, and this exact ring was presented to Hoosiers player Steve Bouchie, who appeared in 29 games that magical season. The face of this size 15/28.2 gram Lustrium ring has a red stone with the school name “INDIANA” across the top surrounded by “1981 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS” in raised relief. One shank has “CHAMPIONS” across the top with the NCAA seal, their conference “BIG TEN” and “CONCENTRATION” below. The other shank has the name “BOUCHIE” above the number “1” in red, with “HOOSIERS” and “DEFENSE” below. Defense certainly was a trademark of this team, held the potent Tar Heels to only 24 second half points. Inside the band is “J LTM” for the Lustrium composition. Near Mint condition.
